Together with Reliable Coins
If you've got old coins, jewelry, or silver sitting around, this weekend is a good time to find out what it's actually worth. Shane at Reliable Coins in Woodway does free appraisals with zero pressure to sell, and in a business where it's easy to take advantage of people who don't know what they have, he's built his reputation on doing the exact opposite.
One customer put it best: "Shane told me what he could offer and advised me to gain other offers and not accept below a specific amount. This was a demonstration of honesty, integrity and true commitment to customers."

🐣 Your Easter Weekend
Tonight is First Friday, and downtown is doing something a little different this month. National Poetry Month means readings, art, and an excuse to wander in and out of places you've been meaning to try. Full list of participating businesses at 1stfridaywaco.com.
One thing worth knowing before you plan Saturday: a big storm is rolling in and temperatures are expected to drop back into the 50s by Sunday morning. Get your outdoor plans locked in for Saturday and save Sunday for brunch.
Egg Hunts Around Waco
🥚 Hewitt Community Easter Egg Hunt at Hewitt Park on Saturday. The hunt starts exactly at 10am
🥚 Community Easter Egg Hunt at Seley Park on Saturday at 12pm with 10,000 hidden eggs, free food, and a relaxed park setting. Free to the public and one of the bigger hunts in town.
🥚 Easter Festival at Western Belle Farm Friday and Saturday starting at 10am both days. Admission includes over 30 farm activities, chick holding, apple blasting, and crowd-free egg hunting for kids 10 and under.
🍳 Easter Brunch Worth the Reservation
If you haven't locked down Easter brunch yet, do it today. Sunday is going to be cool and quiet and perfect for a long meal somewhere good.
Opal's Oysters | 228 S. 8th St. | Sunday 10am-4pm | Lobster rolls, a prime rib carving station, shaved-truffle deviled eggs, and a patio that feels like the Gulf Coast dropped into downtown Waco. Went here last year, did not disappoint. Reservations
The Brasserie at Hotel 1928 | 701 Washington Ave. | Southern classics inside one of the most beautiful rooms in the city. The Dr Pepper fudge cake alone is worth showing up for. Easter bunny will be there and one winner will win a free stay at the hotel. Reservations
Call ahead to confirm Easter Sunday hours before making plans.
🛹 Tony Hawk Rolled Through Waco Earlier this week, Tony Hawk made a quiet stop at Sul Ross Skatepark and left a signed skateboard behind. No announcement, just the GOAT showing up and leaving something for the community. Check it out.
Buddy is a one-and-a-half-year-old Dachshund mix at Fuzzy Friends Rescue, and at 16 pounds he is exactly the right size to take up just enough of the couch to make it his. He's got the long body, the big personality, and the kind of face that makes it very hard to say no to anything he wants.
If you've been thinking about adding a dog to the family, Buddy is ready. Stop by Fuzzy Friends Rescue this weekend or learn more about Buddy here.

🎬 Let Me Clear Something Up Wednesday's post about Blockbuster coming to Waco this fall? Not real. Please check the date of that post. April 1st, if you forgot. That said, hundreds of Wacoans let me know they would show up so if someone wants to make it happen, the demand is there.
🎂 Cake Party On Tuesday I floated the idea of a Waco Buzz Cake Party and the response was 99% approval. Time to start figuring out how to make it happen. The idea is everyone brings a cake, gets to meet new people, and enjoy one of God's greatest gifts to mankind. I'll start meeting with some folks in Waco's cake world and keep you posted. For now, I'll be spending the weekend learning how to correctly pronounce and apply ganache.
