June 6 marks National Donut Day, a tradition started by the Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the “Donut Lassies” who served treats to soldiers during WWI. Swing by Shipley’s or Dunkin' and get a free donut with any purchase.

This Saturday is Free Fishing Day across Texas, allowing you to fish in any public water—no license required. Lake Waco offers a variety of fish, including largemouth bass, white bass, crappie, and catfish. Insider tip: Get to Airport Park or Koehne Park early for a chance to have some big fish bite!
