On Saturday, February 21, Baylor TIP is hosting a half- or full-day learning experience on Baylor’s campus where students can dive into chemistry, robotics, law, creative writing, and more.

Valentine’s Weekend in Waco 💘💘

TGIF. It’s Friday the 13th, Valentine’s Day is Saturday. And somehow February lined up perfectly this year: 28 days, starting on a Sunday and ending on a Saturday. This weekend is going to feel like spring decided to show up early. Sunshine, temps in the 70s, and about a 60% chance of rain on Saturday because Texas refuses to fully commit.

The weekend is packed with live music, Galentine’s gatherings, Valentine’s dinners, and the Harlem Globetrotters bringing their fun to town. And in one of the sweeter gestures around Waco, Kilwins Waco is gifting a complimentary 1-lb box of strawberries to any Waco Police or Fire Department member who stops by on Saturday.

Patios will be full. Flower shops will be busy. And if you’ve been meaning to grab one of the new Waco Buzz shirts, the pop-up store closes Sunday.

A Day at MCC 🎓
Today (Friday) from 9 AM to 2 PM, McLennan Community College is hosting A Day at MCC: A Bridge to Your Future at the Michaelis Academic Center. It’s a free event built specifically for Spanish-speaking students and families who want a clearer path to college, whether that’s a career certificate or a degree.
Families will hear presentations in Spanish about admissions, financial aid, and academic programs. They’ll tour campus and connect directly with staff. Roughly 11 to 14 percent of households in McLennan County report speaking Spanish at home as their primary language, so this is a meaningful bridge for a lot of families in our community.

Bass Pro Tour Is Coming to Waco (March 5–8) 🎣
Quick preview so you can plan ahead. For the first time ever, a national Bass Pro Tour event is bringing its final rounds to Lake Waco March 5–8. Championship weekend action shifts to Twin Bridges Park, where fans can watch the pros live on the big screen and let the kids jump into a free fishing derby with gear provided.

There will be free food for the first 100 fans each day, live music, giveaways, and free rod and reels for the first 50 kids 14 and under. And throughout the weekend, a hunting and fishing expo will also be happening at the AC Hotel, turning it into a full-on outdoor weekend in Waco.
