🎸 Baylor's Concert Calendar Just Got Loaded

Baylor just added two more names to its concert calendar. One happens next month. The other is already looking ahead to 2027.

First up: Pat Green, the Waco-raised country star, headlines Baylor Backyard Live on Saturday, Sept. 26, right before the Big 12 opener against Deion Sanders and Colorado. It's free, it's in Touchdown Alley outside McLane Stadium, and it kicks off about an hour and 45 minutes before kickoff. No ticket needed, just show up.

Then jump ahead to April 22, 2027, when Third Day brings the final leg of its 30th anniversary tour to Foster Pavilion, featuring the band's original members plus special guests Zach Williams and Scout and the Saints. Tickets go on sale for the public Aug. 14.

Waco to Fort Lauderdale: $298 roundtrip, Aug. 29 to Sept. 5.

🍲 Saying Goodbye to Seoul Korean BBQ & Hot Pot (Yes, It Was Open)

If you didn't know Seoul Korean BBQ & Hot Pot was at 416 N Valley Mills Dr, you're definitely not alone. The restaurant opened six months ago, and after announcing its upcoming closure, the comments were split between longtime fans saying how much they'll miss it and people asking, "Wait... when did this open?"

Aug. 16 will be the restaurant's final day. The owners shared that Waco showed up for them, from grill nights and hot pot dinners to date nights and family meals, and they're grateful for the support.📍 416 N Valley Mills Dr

🔐 Waco Escape Rooms Is Moving

Waco Escape Rooms is packing up its spot on Washington Ave (next to Hotel 1928) and setting up shop at 924 Austin Ave, right next door to the Performing Arts Community Center. The announcement shared new puzzles and challenges are coming with the new address.

♿ A New Mobility Resource for Waco

Access 2 Mobility has been helping Texans stay independent for years through their Tyler location, and now they're expanding into the Waco area with their first location at 5304 North Old Dallas Road in Elm Mott.

📌 Quick Hit

Academy Sports + Outdoors is opening its second Waco-area store at 1205 N Loop 340 in Lacy Lakeview this month. Soft opening is Aug. 30, grand opening is Sept. 4.

🗳️ Waco Needs You on a Board

The City is looking for locals to fill open seats on its boards and commissions, everything from Parks and Recreation to the Historic Landmark Preservation Commission. It's a real way to have a say in where Waco goes, instead of just commenting about it online.

🏛️ Five Things on Tonight's City Council Agenda

Council's public session starts at 6 PM tonight at the Bosque Theatre inside the Waco Convention Center (100 Washington Ave). Work session runs earlier at 3.

The biggest item: the FY27 budget and tax rate. Council is proposing a rate of $0.755 per $100 of value, which the city estimates would lower the median homeowner's city tax bill by about $73.74. Final votes come Sept. 1 and Sept. 8.

AI Is Easy. Knowing What to Do With It Isn't.

We took the summer off from this section, but it's August now, which means one thing: we're officially counting down to Baylor Football. 32 days until kickoff against Auburn (Sept. 5). Their first home game is on September 12 vs Prairie View.

Football's not walking in alone though. Baylor volleyball and soccer both kick off their seasons soon too, D1 programs playing consistently in our backyard. Look for this section every Tuesday going forward with upcoming games, ticket deals, and promotions.
