Wellness lives in downtown Waco at Waco Bodymend

There’s a place in downtown Waco that doesn’t just train your body—it helps you actually feel good again.

Waco Bodymend on Mary Ave blends recovery, wellness, and performance tools normally reserved for the pros. Think a 39-degree pressurized cold therapy shower, heat therapy, oxygen and light treatments, mobility work, high-energy spin classes, and even IV hydration through their sister business I-Vit. And when you walk in, Oh My Juice is right in the entrance lobby to fuel your healthy habits.

But this isn’t just for athletes. It’s for parents, desk workers, teachers—anyone tired of waking up sore or stressed.

It’s not about competing—it’s about finally feeling like yourself.
Try it and experience the difference with the exclusive offer for Waco Buzz subscribers.

BUZZWORTHY NEWS

🍽 Dinner Club: One Week Out & Almost Full

We launched the Waco Buzz Dinner Club last week—and the response has been bigger than we imagined. 65 people have already signed up to grab dinner with five new faces at a local restaurant on October 22.

Why we’re doing it: Making friends as an adult is hard. But sharing a table is still one of the easiest ways to build real community. You take a short quiz, we match you with a group, and you show up. Zero pressure, all connection.

There are 15 spots left, and once they’re gone, that’s it until the next one.

🏡 A New Kind of Neighborhood in Sanger Heights

Grassroots Waco is launching Renaissance at Sanger Avenue— a 25-home “pocket neighborhood” designed to bring people closer together, not spread them apart. Think front porches, shared outdoor spaces, and neighbors who actually know each other. The homes will be mixed-income with modern features like walk-in closets, 9’ ceilings, garages, and energy-efficient systems. It’s one of the most intentional housing projects we’ve seen in Waco—and a glimpse at what healthy growth could look like.

🚦 Franklin & New Road: The Overpass Is Coming

If you’ve ever hit the light at Franklin & New Road at 5 PM and questioned all of your life choices, relief is on the way. TxDOT and the Waco MPO are planning a $45 million overpass to unclog one of the busiest intersections in the city—used by 20,000+ drivers every day. Construction is expected to take about two years once a contractor is selected later this year. In other words… the wait at the light will get worse before it gets better—but the “better” might be worth it.

✈️ Flight Deal of the Week
Roundtrip flights from Waco to Denver are $276 on American with one stop.
November = off-season, cooler weather, lighter crowds. Might be the cheapest mountain getaway you’ll see all year.

New Openings & Moves

🌮 Cultura Mia Is Back… on Wheels

Cultura Mia’s storefront may be gone, but the flavors aren’t. Former owner Jesús Rodriguez just launched Chulada de Maíz, a food truck parked at Common Grounds on Franklin (8 AM–2 PM) serving authentic chilaquiles and breakfast burritos.
Same recipes. Same heart. Just on wheels.

🖥 Another Data Center Is Coming to Waco

Duos Edge AI is deploying a new edge data center at Region 12, giving local schools and businesses faster, more secure computing power especially for AI tools.
Good news: these centers are built for efficiency, so they shouldn’t spike your power bill. Waco is quietly becoming a digital infrastructure hub—and that means more tech investment is likely on the way. Read more.

🎸 The Backyard Has New Owners

Lightstream Presents (the team behind Haute Spot and Coupland Dancehall) just bought The Backyard Bar Stage & Grill.
They’re planning major upgrades in 2025: better sound, better lights, bigger artists. The founding owners will run things through the end of the year including a 10th anniversary party and NYE show. Let’s just hope ticket prices don’t follow the upgrades.

👕 Ramble & Co Is For Sale

Loved Waco lifestyle brand Ramble & Co (216 S 11th St.) is officially looking for new ownership. They’ve built a loyal following with family-focused apparel, a strong online presence, and a recognizable name. If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a meaningful Waco brand or taking an already successful company to the next level then this might be the opportunity of the year. See the full listing here.

Spotlight: Sach House
A female-focused, members-only collaborative space
📍 1505 1/2 Austin Ave, Waco

When Meredith Cole moved to Waco in fall 2022 after marrying a Wacoan, she brought something with her—a vision for how women could work differently.

“As a remote employee, working from home became stale and isolated; building Sach House has been an attempt to create a ‘non-coffee shop’ workplace for female remote workers in Waco while also providing community and collaboration.”

Sach House is designed for Waco women who work remotely, part time, or full time with flexibility and need an office space. But more than desks and Wi-Fi, it’s about connection.

“My heart behind this space is to offer women of all different professions and passions with a place to focus, exhale and learn from each other.”

So how can people plug in?

“Reach out directly to me, Meredith, or DM us on Instagram @sachhouse.”

And her biggest lesson about Waco?

“There are so many cool women in this town doing cool things. I’ve learned that it can take a local ‘watering hole’ to give them a place to gather—when we start to be inspired by collaboration (and enjoy our jobs more 🤓).”

Sach House isn’t just a workspace.
It’s a community being built one conversation, one collaboration, one woman at a time.
