Presented by Adam Rogers - Texas Farm Bureau Insurance
Q: Why is it important to meet face-to-face with your insurance agent?
Because insurance is an education process. Too many people think all coverage is the same—it isn’t. Adam Rogers and his team at Texas Farm Bureau Insurance focus on building long-term programs for families, not just selling one-off policies. That starts with trust, and trust is built in person.
Q: Are all insurance policies created equal?
No. Home, auto, and life insurance each come with a wide range of coverage options, and the “right” plan changes as your life changes. Having an agent who knows you—and can educate and advise you along the way—is what protects your family best.
Adam’s approach: educate first, tailor coverage second, and walk with your family for the long haul.

🍽️ The Waco Buzz Dinner Club
Making new friends as an adult can be tough. We’re making it easier
That’s why we’re trying something new with The Waco Buzz Dinner Club.
We’re going to do this once, get feedback, and see if it’s worth doing again. Don’t know unless you try, right?
Here’s how it works:
🍽️ Take a quick quiz about your personality, interests, and food preferences.
✨ Get matched with five other Wacoans who fit your style (think food preferences, budget, life stage).
📍 Your table of six meets for dinner on Wednesday, October 22 at 6:30 PM — the exact restaurant is revealed that morning.
🥂 After dinner, all groups are invited to a casual after-meetup to keep the conversation going.
Want to go with someone specific (spouse, good friend, etc.)?
Fill out the form, then forward the link to that person. At the end of the quiz, you’ll have the option to invite a friend — they’ll get an email and need to book within 12 hours so the platform can seat you together.
👉 Take the quiz & grab your seat ›
If you’ve been wanting to meet new people in town, this might be the easiest (and most fun) way to do it.
✈️ Waco Cheap Flights — Fall Getaways
Parking at the Waco airport is now just $5/day, and these fares make a fall trip tempting:
Seattle — $248 roundtrip
Boston — $266 roundtrip
Both are solid deals for peak fall travel — whether you’re chasing autumn leaves in New England or coffee & coastal vibes in the Pacific Northwest.
BUSINESS NEWS
New openings, big buys, and a Chip & Jo Shark Tank update.

For Keeps Coffee located at 3619 Bosque Blvd
📺 Chip & Jo hit Shark Tank — for real this time
A couple weeks ago I told y’all Chip and Joanna Gaines would be guest sharks… but the episode never aired. My miss. The actual episode hits this Wednesday at 9 PM CST on ABC/Hulu.
☕️ For Keeps keeps growing
The team behind For Keeps Coffee & Bakery isn’t stopping at lattes and pastries. They just bought the nearby strip center at 34th & Bosque — right in the heart of Brookview. You should expect the space to be beautifully designed, community-minded, and a spot where small local businesses can thrive.
🌭 New eats incoming
Two highly asked-about spots finally have dates:
HTeaO (Wooded Acres near H-E-B) — opening October 18.
Wienerschnitzel (in front of the Galaxy Theatre) — aiming for a mid-November opening.
🥐 Neighborhood Bakery space up for grabs
The former Neighborhood Bakery at 506 Austin Ave (right by Dichotomy and 25N Coworking) has closed its doors, and Cromwell Commercial Group just listed the property for sale. It’s a prime downtown spot begging for a new concept to bring some fresh energy.

📈The Waco Buzz is growing — want to join me?
Last month this little newsletter was read 65,000 times (still blows my mind). I’m looking at adding one or two people to help with partnerships, social media, and maybe even some writing.
If you love Waco, believe the city’s future is bright, and want to help neighbors stay informed and connected, I’d love to hear from you. Just hit reply on this email.
