Sponsored by HOTWORX Woodway
If you’ve driven past HOTWORX in Woodway and wondered what’s going on in those glowing sauna rooms, one class people keep talking about is Hot Pilates.
It’s 30 minutes inside an infrared sauna doing slow, controlled core work. Low impact. High burn. And you walk out drenched and feeling like you actually accomplished something.
Members love it because it’s easy on the joints, builds lean muscle, and fits into a busy schedule. Early morning before work, quick lunch break, or late-night workout. The classes run all day so you can book when it works for you.
And right now they’re running a Spring Into Sweat sale for Waco Buzz readers:
• $1 to join (normally $99)
• Only pay prorated dues for the rest of March
• April is completely FREE
If you’ve been meaning to try it, this is about as low-risk as it gets.
Buzzworthy News

🎭 Waco Civic Theatre Just Announced Their 2027 Lineup
Les Misérables. Phantom of the Opera. The Producers. Chances are at least one of these already means something to you between a school trip, a family memory, a soundtrack you still know every word to. They're coming to Waco's own stage. Your neighbors, bringing three of the most loved musicals ever written to life right here. The Civic Theatre is swinging big. Check out the full lineup here.
🤝 Community Corner
The first Social Studies event last week was a full room and a genuinely great night. Dr. Stephen Sloan walked us through 150 years of Waco history and it turns out this city has been hiding some stories. The Yankees once played here. Waco had a functioning red light district for nearly four decades. The kind of local history that makes you look at familiar streets differently on the drive home.
We're doing it again. Soon.
Next up is a different kind of history — the kind being made right now. Dr. Leslie Hahner is a Baylor professor whose research on propaganda and how images shape public opinion has landed her in The Atlantic, BBC World News, and TEDx. She studies how people get persuaded without realizing it, which feels like a pretty relevant skill set in 2026. Here's the twist: you pick what she talks about.
Quick Poll: What topic would you most want to hear about?
On the 18th, we’re launching something new for founders, investors, and builders downtown. Hosted at Humidor on Austin, the Downtown Strategy Roundtable is an intentional gathering for founders, operators, and investors who are actively shaping Waco’s future. The goal is simple: connect the people building things in this city and create space for conversations about where Waco goes next.
It’s free to attend, but space is limited. 👉 Register here

🍗 Kottage Korean Wings Getting Buzz

Kottage Korean Wings has been quietly earning a reputation among local foodies — and a recent Reddit review pushed them into the conversation in a bigger way. Gochujang-glazed wings, crispy fries, the kind of word-of-mouth that builds without any advertising. The 8-piece is $16 — gluten-free, fried in beef tallow, served with pickled Korean radish. Get the gochujang sauce. They're only open Friday and Saturday evenings for curbside pickup, which somehow makes people want it more. Worth planning your weekend around.
🌭 Wienerschnitzel Already Expanding
They haven't been back long and they're already building a second location. Wienerschnitzel is converting a former bank (and most recently a pharmacy) in Lacy Lakeview at 1207 N. Loop 340 — $1M renovation, construction starting April 1. It'll sit right in front of the new Academy Sports going into the old K-Mart space. That entire corridor is quietly becoming something worth paying attention to.

SPORTS
Baylor Sports Around Waco This Week
🏀 Baylor Men’s Basketball (16–15)
The Bears closed the regular season with a dominant 101–75 win over Utah at home. The victory also marked Coach Scott Drew’s 500th career win, another milestone for the coach who rebuilt Baylor into a national power. Now it’s tournament time. Baylor opens the Big 12 Tournament today in Kansas City against Arizona State at 11:30 AM. The Bears beat the Sun Devils a couple weeks ago at home. The reality: winning the Big 12 Tournament is Baylor’s only path into March Madness. Saying a prayer now.
🏀 Baylor Women’s Basketball (24–8)
The Bears were upset by Colorado in the Big 12 Tournament, extending their current skid to two games. Not ideal timing, but Baylor still enters the NCAA Tournament later this month with the roster and record to make a serious run. Sometimes a stumble in the conference tournament resets the focus before the games that actually matter.
⚾ Baseball
Baylor swept Air Force at Baylor Ballpark over the weekend.
Next up: Sam Houston on Tuesday at 6:30 PM — it's $2 Tuesday, meaning tickets, hot dogs, and drinks are all two dollars. West Virginia comes to town this weekend for a three-game series.
Sixty-five degrees, two-dollar hot dogs, and live baseball on a Tuesday night. There are worse ways to spend an evening.
