Last spring, we launched Social Studies, a new event series where local professors bring fascinating ideas out of the classroom and into unexpected places around Waco.

To kick off our Fall schedule, Dr. Gordon Melton, one of America’s leading scholars of religion, joins us at The Baylor Club to explore how one faith became more than 1,500 denominations in America.

Friday night brings jazz saxophonist Fred Smith, vocalist Dr. Tyrha Lindsey-Warren, and a Latin jazz harpist closing out the evening. Restaurant worth the money: "Masa Sushi. The lunch special bento box, especially the tonkatsu or chicken katsu.”

Best Waco money tip: "Start investing early. Compound growth does the rest."
