Good morning, Waco. Today is Flag Day, so here's a flag story for you. When Ohio teenager Robert Heft turned in a 50-star flag design for a class project in 1958, his teacher gave it a B-minus. Two years later, President Eisenhower picked it as the official American flag -- and the grade got bumped to an A.

TOGETHER WITH CHEVY OF WEST
They'll meet or beat any tire price. Offer ends June 30.
Summer road trips, hot pavement, and a trunk full of kids are not kind to tires. Chevy of West's Certified Service team will match or beat any competitor's tire price -- and while you're in, they'll run a full multi-point inspection covering brakes, battery, fluid levels, and wipers at no extra charge.

🌯 The $4 HEB Find Worth Grabbing
I finally tried the Deep Indian Kitchen wraps that have been all over social media.
HEB carries four varieties: chicken tikka masala, butter chicken kati, coconut chicken curry, and potato and pea samosa kati. Each is about $4. They come with a sleeve that crisps the paratha in the microwave, so you're not biting into something sad and soggy. NGL it does look like a Hot Pocket at first. Glad that didn’t stop me from trying each of them.
Six-word review: restaurant quality flavor, real crunch, protein packed.
Find them in the frozen aisle at HEB and grab a couple, because they've been selling out after going viral on TikTok.
📅 Events to Circle This Week

Team USA vs. Australia -- Friday, June 19 at 2 PM
USA plays their second World Cup group stage match Friday against Australia at Lumen Field in Seattle. Tickets in person start around $1,172, so watching it with friends at a local spot sounds pretty great. Recommend Barnett’s Patio, Dancing Bear Pub, or Southern Roots Brewery for the afternoon watch party.
(Company policy says Fridays are half days in the summer, right? Right.)
Brazos Nights: Zapp + MC Lyte -- Friday, June 19
The city’s next free outdoor concert on the riverfront at Indian Spring Park this coming Friday. Funk legends Zapp hit the stage at 7:30 PM, hip-hop pioneer MC Lyte closes at 9. Food trucks open at 6. Bring chairs and blankets.

CTAACC Juneteenth Parade -- Saturday, June 20 at 10 AM
The Central Texas African American Chamber of Commerce hosts their annual Juneteenth Parade starting at Heritage Square, running through the Elm Avenue corridor, and finishing at the historic Paul Quinn campus. Businesses, families, faith leaders, and civic leaders all march together. Free, open to everyone, and one of the more meaningful things happening in Waco this weekend.
TSHOF Celebrity Golf Tournament -- Friday & Saturday, June 19-20
The Texas Sports Hall of Fame Celebrity Golf Tournament is back at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course. Friday: check-in at 11 AM, tee time at noon, golf party at 6 PM with dinner at 7. Saturday: tee time at 8 AM, lunch to follow. Teams are three players plus a celebrity guest.
Father's Day is a week away and I don't have a gift guide, but a round of golf with a Texas sports legend has to be pretty high on the list.

Most people assume real estate auctions mean something's wrong with the property. Usually the opposite is true.

The adjoining 6.627 acres is available separately or together. Every registered bidder sees the same information, the price moves in real time, and when it closes you know exactly where you stood.
Bidding closes Monday, June 22 at 6 PM CST at AuctionARES.com.
