🐾 170+ Dogs Take Over Waco This Weekend
The Cen-Tex Kennel Club's all-breed dog show runs Friday through Sunday at The BASE at Extraco Events Center. There will be 170+ dogs competing in everything from conformation to obedience, rally, and showmanship.

It's open to the public from 10 AM–3 PM each day, so if you've ever wanted to see what a serious dog show actually looks like, this is your weekend to see it.

And separately, Fuzzy Friends just announced their fall headliner. John O'Hurley, who's hosted NBC's National Dog Show for 23 years, brings his one-man show A Man With Standards to the Waco Hippodrome on October 13 at 7 PM. Yes, that's J. Peterman from Seinfeld. Proceeds benefit Fuzzy Friends.

🍜 Waco Gets an Anime + Street Food Festival

Otaku's Food + Anime Summer Tour rolls into Waco this weekend, teamed up with Richland Mall for two days of cosplay, sumo, and street food from across Asia and beyond. Think Filipino skewers, Japanese street food, Thai bites, Taiwanese boba, and Vietnamese grilled chicken, all in one parking lot.

⚾ Waco was at the center of a very unusual Little League legal fight this week. Tulsa was disqualified over an ineligible player, then a temporary restraining order briefly put them back in the tournament. On Wednesday, a McLennan County judge dissolved the order, clearing the way for Boerne to advance to Williamsport.

🧇 Chick-fil-A's Chicken and Waffles Sandwich hits menus nationwide on Aug 24, including all three Waco locations. Call it a preemptive strike. Waffle House isn't scheduled to open here until 2027.

🎤 Waco's own Forrest Frank just wrapped the Jesus Generation Tour, which sold more than 519,000 tickets across 29 cities. Harris Creek pastor Jonathon Pokluda rode along for a month and told KWTX it was unlike anything he's seen in his career.
