TOGETHER WITH CHEVY OF WEST

Mario Bonaccorso, Parts & Service Director at Chevrolet of West
Most dealership service departments put their advisors behind a wall and their director behind a door.
Mario Bonaccorso is doing the opposite. As the new Service and Parts Director at Chevy of West, he works the floor alongside his techs and advisors every day. Born in Sicily, in the auto industry since 1986, and the son of a restaurant founder — hospitality is in his DNA.
Chevy of West now offers a complimentary multi-point inspection with every service visit, catching safety issues and recalls before they become problems.

⚽ Where to Watch the World Cup in Waco

The five-week tournament opens on Thursday with Mexico vs. South Africa at 2 PM CT on Fox. Free on Tubi too, if you don't have cable.
USA plays their first game Friday, June 12 against Paraguay at 8 PM CT on Fox. Also free on Tubi and Peacock. The full group stage schedule for the Americans: June 19 vs. Australia (2 PM CT) and June 25 vs. Turkey (9 PM CT).
The closest live games are at AT&T Stadium in Dallas. But watching with a crowd is half the experience, and Waco has some good options this week:
Barnett's Whiskey House — two massive outdoor screens, great sound, and enough room to bring a crowd.
Southern Roots Brewing — Waco Soccer Club is hosting organized watch parties here all tournament. Good energy, soccer-specific crowd.
Dancing Bear Pub — neighborhood pub that reliably shows international soccer. Wide craft beer selection, comfortable.
Slow Rise Pizza — laid-back, family-friendly, and a good call for afternoon games with kids.
Freight Bar — typically a Baylor crowd, but they're going full family mode all summer. This weekend kicks off Freight Family Summer with movies, World Cup watch parties, pizza, and yard games in the yard. Friday they're showing Will Ferrell’s Kicking & Screaming at 6 PM, then USA vs Paraguay at 8 PM. Personal favorite is their basketball connect four game.
One more thing worth knowing: Canales Furniture is running a World Cup promo through Tuesday. Buy furniture between June 6-10, and if both Mexico AND the USA each score in the first 15 minutes of their opening games, your entire purchase gets reimbursed. Anyone who knows who Mattress Mack is knows exactly how this works.

Waco Buzz Field Trips — Should We Do This?
Waco has some places most of us have never been to let alone had a behind the scenes tour of — SpaceX, Amazon, the Mammoth Site, Magnolia, Cameron Park Zoo. I want to organize small group behind-the-scenes tours where you show up, meet new people, and learn more about places we drive past all the time.

Become a CASA Volunteer
Kids in foster care in McLennan County need one consistent adult in their corner. CASA volunteers are trained advocates who show up for a child in court and in their community. Time, consistency, and the willingness to show up can make a world of difference.
