Together with I-Vit Wellness Lounge
We did IV therapy in Colorado recently for altitude sickness and felt the difference almost right away. Headache gone, energy back, ready to get back out there. That kind of turnaround got me thinking about how often the same need shows up here in Waco, just with heat instead of altitude.
Texas summers do a number on you. Heat exhaustion, dehydration from being outside too long, a rough recovery after a bug or a late night. That's exactly what I-Vit downtown is built for. IV fluids replace what you've lost faster than water alone, and because it goes straight into your vein, your body absorbs nearly all of it instead of losing some to digestion.
It's run under a doctor as medical director overseeing every drip, so this isn't a wellness fad with a needle attached.
Their Hydration VIP Membership is $99 a month, cancel anytime. That gets you 20% off every IV drip, 10% off add-ons and vitamin injections, and one injection voucher included each month, plus member pricing year-round.
Right now through the end of July, their Myers Top Shelf IV is $40 off, which makes this a good month to try it before you commit to anything. I-Vit is at 300 S 2nd Street, Suite 7, Full menu and booking at ivitwaco.com.*

🐻 Baylor Just Made Game Day Cheaper for Locals
Baylor Athletics rolled out the Waco Rush Pass this week. It's a season-long thank you to anyone with a Waco mailing address. Register and you'll get notified every time discounted tickets open up for football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, and track and field.
Here's the real hook. Central National Bank is giving two free tickets to the first 2,500 eligible Wacoans who sign up by Aug. 1, good for the football home opener against Prairie View A&M on 254 Night.

⚖️ Last Day to Support Justice for All Week
Greater Waco Legal Services wraps its first Justice for All Week today. The stat behind it: about 70% of American households make too much for free legal aid but can't afford a private attorney either.
The group runs on a sliding fee scale, and donations cover the gap. Their "1776 Challenge" asks for $17.76, or whatever you can give.
Today's the closing celebration at Be Kind Coffee, where you can meet the attorneys and staff behind the work. Even if you’re reading this after it wraps, the need doesn't clock out.
🚀 A Central Texas Rocket Exec Just Gave Away $320 Million
Good news if you've had a baby recently, or you're planning to. Trump Accounts launched nationwide on July 4, and any kid born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028 gets $1,000 dropped into a savings account with their name on it. No paperwork beyond signing up. It grows in an index fund until they turn 18.
Now, here's where it gets local. SpaceX went public on June 12, and its president, Gwynne Shotwell, just took some of that new money and donated 2 million shares, worth more than $320 million, into the same type of account for a different age group: kids 11 to 17. The gift favors lower-income families around Central Texas, which means a good number of Waco teenagers are in range.
So depending on your kid's age, there might be money waiting on them either way. Worth a few minutes to check.
👉 Check eligibility at TrumpAccounts.gov
Maybe we call it truce now after all the years of the rattling windows when they test their rocket engines in McGregor??

🍵 Mila Café Is Opening a Second Spot Downtown
Mila Rosa is taking over the old Oh My Juice spot at 215 Mary Ave, Suite 101, right next to Trojan Cork & Keg. Their original location at 108 N 25th St stays open and continues to do great things.
Word around town is the Dulce Latte is the one to get at the new spot. One recent review raved about it, then admitted to ordering a second one the same day. Check out this great walkthrough from our friends at Waco Happenings.
📌 Quick Hits
🍝 Luigi's Is Taking a Summer Break
Luigi's, at 6025 Woodway Dr, is closed for three weeks starting now and reopens July 31. Think of it as their version of a family vacation, and yours to go try something new while they're out.
🌮 Taqueria Mis Maria's Future Is Up in the Air
After 10 years serving tacos off 19th Street near Magnolia Table, Taqueria Mis Maria's is closed. A new city ordinance that took effect this year no longer allows the food truck to park overnight in its usual spot. A lot of Buzz readers had Mis Maria's as their go-to for street tacos, so this one stings.

🌊 Chapel Park's Splash Pad Is Closing (for a Good Reason)

City of Waco
Chapel Park's splash pad and pavilion closed today for a full rebuild. The 1,500 square foot splash pad is getting replaced with an interactive water, ADA-compliant, play area, and the pavilion is growing from 600 to 1,000 square feet with more shaded seating.
The $750,000 project should wrap by October or November.
